SHARED RESEARCH FACILITY
PLATFORM

We are developing a shared research facility platform that features exceptional equipment and resources. It is designed to catalyze innovation by providing access to equipment and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. This platform enables researchers from various fields to share expertise and technology, accelerating research outcomes and reducing costs. By facilitating seamless interaction and resource sharing, we enhance the capacity for groundbreaking advancements in Red Biotech, supporting both established scientists and emerging innovators in transforming healthcare.

INCUBATOR Lab for starTUPS
AND SCALEUPS

To further support innovation, HID is developing an incubator aimed at startups and scaleups. This incubator provides essential resources such as advanced laboratories enabling companies to generate proof of concept data and transition innovative ideas into market-ready solutions.

In our commitment to nurturing talent, HID is building an Experience Lab. This facility is tailored for students to gain their first practical experiences in a controlled, state-of-the-art environment, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application

Access the Laboratory Animal
Center through NKI

At HID, we provide our community with access to cutting-edge research tools. In collaboration with our partner, the Netherlands Cancer Institute, you can take advantage of their Laboratory Animal Center for advanced preclinical cancer research.

Through this you have access to:

  • Innovative preclinical models like Patient-Derived Xenografts (PDX) and Genetically Engineered Mice and Rats (GEMMs/GERMs).
  • Sophisticated imaging technologies, including MRI, PET/CT, and more.
  • Research conducted under strict ethical standards, following the 3R principles (Replacement, Refinement, Reduction).

Access the Protein Lab Facility through NKI

At HID, we offer access to the a Protein Lab Facility in collaboration with NKI. This advanced facility supports research in protein production, purification, and analysis, providing the tools and expertise you need to drive innovation.

The Protein Lab Facility provides advanced facilities for protein research, from production to characterization. Researchers can access support for cloning genes into expression vectors and expressing proteins in E. coli, sf9 insect cells, or HEK293 mammalian cells.

The facility offers state-of-the-art purification systems, including BioRad NGC and Äkta Micro chromatography platforms, with columns for ion exchange, affinity, and size exclusion.

For biochemical analysis, tools such as SEC-MALS for molecular weight determination and NanoTemper Prometheus for thermal stability are available. Molecular interactions can be studied using techniques like Surface Plasmon Resonance (Biacore) and Isothermal Titration Calorimetry. The facility also features an automated platform for high-throughput protein crystallization screening and optimization. With cutting-edge equipment and expert support, this facility enables researchers to efficiently advance their protein research at every step.
