Experience

Students enter the lab and start their investigation. They analyse samples, read results and take decisions that shape Anisa’s story. 
AI responds to their actions and starts a direct conversation with the students. The story develops under time pressure. Students need to act, reflect and move on. Each choice has visible impact on Anisa’s situation.The mix of AI, storytelling and gamified tasks keeps them engaged and shows the importance of clear thinking in a dynamic setting.

Experience

After the simulation, students enter the feedback room. Here they see the impact of their earlier decisions. AI shows how their results connect to Anisa’s case. Students look back at key moments, compare choices and understand why certain findings needed confirmation.
This space helps them sharpen their reasoning before they continue with the next learning step.

What is the Experience Lab?

The Experience Lab brings education and industry together. It is a joint initiative by HID, Sanquin Academy, ROC van Amsterdam and the City of Amsterdam.
We develop the next generation of biomedical talent in an environment where learning feels real.

Students enter a high-tech lab and meet Anisa, a young patient at the center of the story. Through AI, storytelling and gamification they run analyses, interpret results and decide what happens next. They learn lab skills and understand the human side of working in healthcare.

The Experience Lab grows step by step. Our first module targets first- and second-year vocational students in laboratory studies. More learning paths will follow.
This is where students build confidence, skills and purpose.
