Slotervaart Medical Center Foundation
The New West Health & Innovation District is located in an area with several organizations working within the healthcare sector. The municipality designates this part of Amsterdam as “Plantijn”, within the larger urban renewal area Schinkelkwartier. In addition to Sanquin, the following parties are located in the Plantijn area: the Netherlands Cancer Institute / Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital, the Slotervaart Care Center and the Slotervaart van Cordaan nursing home. These 4 parties are jointly united in the Medical Center Slotervaart (MCS) foundation. The MCS foundation provides the public space and parking facilities in the area. In addition, there is also collaboration in an MCS context on cross-regional themes, such as greenery.
