Come and work in the New West Health & Innovation District –in 2022!
The New West Health & Innovation District was officially launched in April 2021, with new residents, events, programmes and an academy. Ector Hoogstad Architecten has designed a master plan focused on creating an open and vibrant district that offers genuine opportunities for innovation. From 2023, the first phase of the master plan will be built. Here we are offering workspace for organisations in the fields of transfusion medicine, haematology, oncology and immunology that would like to have premises close together to maximise the chance of co-creation and innovation. The Hid will provide space for meeting centres and will aim to have as much contact as possible with the local neighbourhood.
If you would like to join the Hid, it is already possible. We are opening our doors even before construction work on the master plan has started. Within a short space of time, six organisations and companies have signed up to enthusiastically embark on the adventure and move in as campus residents: SanaGen, Frame Therapeutics, Zwiers Regulatory Consultancy, BISC Global, the International Plasma and Fractionated Association (IPFA), and Prothya Biosolutions. Over the past year, it has become apparent that other organisations share this enthusiasm for the Hid concept. To accommodate them, one of Sanquin’s existing buildings, the CDT building, is being redeveloped to create an outstanding working environment, with state-of-the-art laboratories and office spaces. The Hid will be able to grow from there, with a good mix of companies, startups, scale-ups and research institutes close together. Companies and organisations all working for a greater purpose: making healthcare a little better every day.
As well as lab and office space, the CDT building will also incorporate rooms for meetings and events. Part of the building (marked in grey) will be used by various departments of Sanquin to guarantee a mix with the existing Hid residents. See the attached animation for an impression. The Hid team can support new residents from the start with general services, events run either by the Hid or organisations themselves, communications, and connections to Sanquin or beyond. Hid residents can also make use of the Sanquin Academy’s training programmes.
