The Hid is a network of partner organizations that work together on solutions for patients suffering from blood-related disorders.
Founding Fathers
The Hid is an initiative of Sanquin Holding. Sanquin is seeking to expand even further its network of partner organisations to work together on solutions for patients suffering from blood-related disorders, and thereby remain at the forefront of innovations in that field. That’s why Sanquin launched a study into the development of a campus around Sanquin’s head office in Amsterdam in 2020.
It is precisely here, on this square kilometre in Amsterdam Nieuw-West, where fundamental medical research and patient treatment have existed side by side for years, with neighbours such as the NKI / Antoni van Leeuwenhoek hospital and the former Slotervaart hospital. The idea is to create a breeding ground for relevant parties, but which also offers space for events, education and catering.
Municipality of Amsterdam
The municipality of Amsterdam supports the development and has contributed financially to the start-up costs. We expect to be able to progress further with the urban master plan in 2021, based on input from the Municipality of Amsterdam and other stakeholders.
